Maltipoo is the same as temperament of a maltese, but maltipoo usually takes on its Poodle parent’s intelligence and curiosity in addition to the temperament of its maltese parent. Maltipoo enjoys sitting on the lap of its owner for a bit and if they are permitted, they can enjoy some fun time or chasing in the garden. Maltipoo is more outgoing and livelier than Maltese. Because Maltipoo is a hybrid dog, this dog can take on a mix of either parent’s temperament.

Grooming Difference Between Maltese and Maltipoo

Maltese and Maltipoo do not have an undercoat so that they do not shed. However, same as any other animals, hair loss may still happen.

The coat of Maltese needs to be brushed every day. It is done to keep their long hair tangle-free and silky. Meanwhile maltipoo needs less brushing where they can be brushed 2 or 3 times a week.

As explained earlier that they do not have an undercoat so that they only need to be bathed once every 3 weeks. They also need specialized shampoo and conditioner to keep their hair in a good condition.

Maltese and maltipoos also suffer from tear staining. It is a stain below their eyes and usually the gathering of liquid looks slimy and gritty. In a darker-colored maltipoo, it may be less obvious, but it is easy to be seen on white maltese and maltipoos. The solution is to wipe with tear-stain prevention wipes.
